Room 213: Ms. Elizabeth Horan
I like teaching fifth grade students because they are becoming more independent. I like helping them take what they have learned over the past six years and bringing it to a higher level. The family here at Mary, Seat of Wisdom is great. All the parents, teachers and staff have really helped me feel at home. It is great to see a strong community behind the students, encouraging them to always try their best.
Background and Education
I graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with my Bachelors in Elementary Education in 2005. In the summer of 2008 I received my Master in Reading from Concordia University. I look forward to taking additional classes to keep up to date on the latest in education.
Years of Teaching Experience
I have been teaching since 2005. I was pleased to join the Mary, Seat of Wisdom community in 2007. During my first year, I taught junior high science and was then offered a position with the fifth grade team. In fifth grade I teach reading, language arts, math, science, spelling, and religion.
Hobbies and Interests
One of my favorite hobbies is reading and I enjoy reading all types of books. I also enjoy finding new books to add to my classroom library. My two favorite sports teams are the Cubs an the Packers. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
