7th Grade
Through greater responsibility for themselves and their schoolwork, and more rigorous academic challenges, seventh grade students at Mary, Seat of Wisdom School begin preparation for high school. In Language Arts, students use higher-order thought processes to analyze literature, extract themes, and critique text structure. Students study Pre-Algebra in accelerated and regular math classes, building on basic skills and exploring new challenges. The seventh grade students explore the world of Life Science through the study of Biology. They conclude the year assembling a chicken skeleton and dissecting a fetal pig. The theme for Religion in seventh grade is the life of Jesus. Students study His life, values and teachings in preparation for Confirmation in eighth grade.
