Room 222: Mrs. Kristin Jeske
“The greatest sign of a success for a teacher . . . is to be able to say, 'The children are now working as if I did not exist.'" - Maria Montessori
Background and Education
I was educated in Catholic schools for over twenty years of my life, starting in first grade and continuing through graduate school. I attended St. Ignatius College Prep for high school and then Loyola University, Chicago. I earned a B.A. in English, a B.S. in elementary education, and a M.Ed. in reading. I have three Illinois state teaching certificates with various endorsements in reading, English, language arts, and social science.
Years of Teaching Experience
I began my teaching career in 1992 as a reading specialist and then came to Mary, Seat of Wisdom in 1993 as a junior high literature and composition teacher. I have since taught at Mary, Seat for over ten years before and after taking time off to have my three children. I currently have an 8th grader and a kindergartener at Mary, Seat. Junior High is my favorite place to teach because I get the opportunity to see the students grow so much as they prepare for high school. I love their humor, their intelligence, and their honesty.
