Room 105: Mrs. Sharon Kolodzik

I became a teacher to nurture and provide learning experiences for children, and make as many positive memories for those I encounter. It is my responsibility to create desire, possibly even a passion, within children to want to learn in a school setting. Children need role models in their lives to help them believe in themselves and to see that they never give up even in the face of difficult circumstances.

Perhaps most importantly, I became a teacher because I see it as a reflection of my religious and spiritual beliefs.  I believe it is a way for me to give back to my students, my school, my family and my community.  In the end, it is my personal way of honoring Christ.  I am honored and blest to be working with the families and staff at such a caring and loving school.

Background and Education

I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Northeastern Illinois University. I am certified to teach Kindergarten to Grade 9, and as a Child-Life Specialist.

Years of Teaching Experience

I have been teaching Kindergarten since 1987.  In 1990 - 1996 I worked at MSW. I left teaching to raise my children. In 2001 I was blessed to be hired back at MSW School to teach Kindergarten.
