6th Grade
The sixth grade year at Mary, Seat of Wisdom School seeks to build on the foundation established in fifth grade, where students became accustomed to the mechanics of changing classes and learning to be more responsible for their work. In Language Arts, students focus on literature and composition, read a variety of novels and prepare book reports. The Writing curriculum is co-taught, allowing for two teachers in the classroom with the students as they learn grammar rules and usage and different types of writing styles. Sixth grade accelerated and regular math both require students to keep track of homework, quizzes and tests. The Science curriculum is supplemented by units on drug abuse and health. In Religion, students study the elements of our Catholic faith.
