Preschool
Welcome
The preschool program at Mary, Seat of Wisdom School is designed to develop social skills, build self-esteem, and fully prepare each child for kindergarten. Our interactive learning environment includes ample opportunities to develop small and large motor skills through active play, art activities, games and stories. All learning activities in the preschool relate to a weekly theme, such as dinosaurs, Halloween, Christmas, and fire prevention, and also include a weekly letter from the alphabet. Preschool students receive their religious instruction through the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program, which is fully incorporated into their school day.
Preschool for 3-year-olds
The 3-year-old preschool program gives students a positive first school experience in interacting with other children, helps them learn classroom rules, and teaches skills by engaging the students in learning centers. The 3-year-old students master number recognition 1-10, shapes and colors, sequencing of numbers and amounts, letter recognition, and learn to recognize their first name in print. They develop computer and library awareness and learn problem-solving skills through puzzles and blocks. Their fine and gross motor skills are enhanced through music, dancing, cutting and pasting, and learning to dress themselves. The 3-year-olds practice cooperation skills during Show and Tell, conflict resolution situations, dramatic play, and free time to play with toys and other students.
