Thank you to all who helped to make our celebration of Catholic Schools Week so joyful. Thank you to all who prepared and manned stations at the Open House on Sunday; Thank you to all who conducted tours during the week; Thank you to our FSA and to all the volunteers who helped support the many special activities calendared this week. A more detailed "thank you" is forthcoming!




REMINDER: Let's continue our celebration TONITE! Student Council is inviting families to gather at MORETTI'S to celebrate Catholic Schools Week and our BLUE RIBBON AWARD! If you order take out, delivery, or dine in, 15% of the bill will go toward our outreach this year, St. Bonaventure Catholic Indian School.  HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE! Remember: NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!




 

There is NO SCHOOL Friday, February 3rd in honor of Catholic Schools Week.



CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF OUR 8th Grade students who will be confirmed at Mass this Saturday. Please keep these students and their families in your prayers.

Go to http://www.mswschool.org/admissions/application-forms.html for the 2012-13 admissions forms. There is a $100.00 Registration Fee.  Current families who re-enroll for the 2012-13 school year by February 15th will have the Registration Fee APPLIED TOWARDS 2012-13 TUITION!




MSW will hold a WEE WISDOM Preschool and Kindergarten Open House on Thursday, February 16th from 9:00 to 10:30 am. There ill be an information session at 9:15 and tours of the school following. For those who cannot attend that day, private tours of the school are always available by calling the School Office at 847-825-2500. Please pass the word to families that you know who may have a student entering preschool or kindergarten in the fall and would like more information about MSW!



BOOK FAIR COMING SOON! Book Fair Luau! It's a Reading Celebration!  Mark Your Calendars! The Scholastic Book Fair is right around the corner, February 24-28!

Students will enjoy getting their Hawaiian "on" by dressing in Hawaiian and surfer outfits, buying the latest book releases, purchasing educational games, and getting school supplies. Parents and grandparents will appreciate the convenience of shopping during and after school and Sunday Mass for gifts (birthdays, Easter, first communion, graduation), cookbooks, adult bestsellers, and coffee-table books.    We always need volunteers! Look for the volunteer sign-up e-mail next week! There are jobs for volunteers of all abilities: decorating & set-up, sales, customer/student assistance & clean-up.

Join The ART POST! Calling all artists! Our art teacher, Ms. Slaboch, will be hosting a NEW Weekly Art Club starting next week, February 9th. The new club is called The Art Post. Every Thursday The Art Post will be held in the art room. Each week Ms. Slaboch will introduce an artist, new material, and or new skill. The students will take home information on what they learned along with the artwork that they decided to create. The artwork that the students create will be primarily self-driven. Ms. Slaboch will encourage the students to explore their own artistic vision!

 

Things to know:

  • When: Every Thursday from 3:10-4:10PM
  • Where: The Art Room
  • Fee: $10
  • Grades: 1-8

No sign-up is necessary! Just arrive with the permission slip (from Ms. Slaboch and found on line) and $10 fee and be ready to create! See you there or be square!

Attention MSW school families who are making tuition payments using TMS in the 2011/12 School year.  2011 TAX forms will be available to families who have TMS accounts.  If you don't have your account set-up, please follow the procedure below.

 

Creating Your Tuition Management Systems Online Account  Instructions for creating your account.   1. Visit www.afford.com 2. On the top row of options select Student & Family Log-In   3. Complete the requested information under Register for Online Access

  • A User Name and Password should be easy for you to remember but not something other people might easily guess
  • User Names and Passwords are Case-Sensitive, so be sure to remember if you use upper or lower case letters, such as:

John_Doe_66     versus   john_doe_66

  • You will need your User Name and Password when you log on in the future

After your Account is set-up all you would have to do is click on the Print Student Statement option to get a copy of total paid for the 2011 year.

"Girls on the Run!" Girls on the Run (GOTR) inspires 3rd to 5th grade girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The registration form is now posted on the school website. SPACE IS LIMITED to 15 girls! Please download the registration form from the school website. For a speedy recovery for our Monday/Friday school nurse, Kathy Mackowski, who had recent surgery;

 

For Norbert Ficher, grandfather of Bailey McDonagh, who is in hospice with a brain tumor;

 

For Jeannie Nafziger, mother of Lori Stoddard, grandmother of Molly (2nd), Shelby (5th) and Jackson (pre-K-4) who is now recovering at home;

 

For Dorothy Sutton, one of the long-time EDP staff, who continues to recover from hip surgery;

For Mrs. Lucille Dittemore, in gratitude that her strength is returning, and that she will return to school next week;
